Paint Creek is one of my favorite locations in West Virginia because there are so many beautiful places to photograph and the creek is relatively easy to access. I visited in mid October when the colors were just beginning to change. Capturing autumn this year was a little bit more difficult. It was a very warm year and a drought year, so the colors weren't as vivid and didn't stay very long at all. It seemed like autumn came and went in a week, even though the temperatures have been mild well into November! 

I love how the warm and cool tones mixed in the morning light, creating a tranquil mood as nature prepared to transition into a time of rest. I hope this print brings you to a place of tranquility even on the busiest of days!

Paint Creek is actually quite long and is a tributary of the Kanawha River and part of the Mississippi River watershed. It's over 42 miles long! I drove along it for many miles and the whole view along the drive was very pretty! The creek meanders through the woods and bubbles over many rock spills. Near the town of Pax, there is a little rest area with a bathroom and viewing platform to access the creek.

This archival limited edition giclee print is signed by me, comes with a signed certificate of authenticity and is packaged in a crystal clear sleeve and shipped in a box or tube and sandwiched between protective layers. Prints are printed on demand until the edition limit is reached (This is why we have a 5-7 day processing time.) After the edition sells out, no more will be printed.
