Watcher In The Waters, Keeper Of Autumn's Grace
WATCHER IN THE WATERS, KEEPER OF AUTUMN'S GRACE
(October 2024) Paint Creek, WV
Description:
I discovered this picturesque creek while exploring some back roads in West Virginia. It was early in the morning in early autumn, so the creek was quite cold as I waded in to stand on the rock!
I wanted to create an image the brings to mind the spirit of autumn as a time for slowing down, reflecting on the year and 'harvesting' the results of our efforts to bring peace and abundance into our lives and how we need to protect and hold space for the things that matter most to us.
Paint Creek is actually quite long and is a tributary of the Kanawha River and part of the Mississippi River watershed. It's over 42 miles long! I drove along it for many miles and the whole view along the drive was very pretty! The creek meanders through the woods and bubbles over many rock spills. Near the town of Pax, there is a little rest area with a bathroom and viewing platform to access the creek.
